Two columns and a rusty gate

Since our property was freely accessible, any strangers constantly walked across and looked at everything, as if it were normal to walk around on other people’s property, just because it is not fenced. So we decided to block the driveway as soon as possible and to fence the property, at least a small part of it, which goes all around the house. Of course we wanted to make the driveway “majorquin”, so we drove across the island and looked at different driveways and then decided on columns made of typical majorquin stones and a rusty gate. Next to the columns, a sloping wall should lead up to the road and border the fence there. The gate was then made by a blacksmith according to our specifications and the columns for it were built by our mason. Since the type of wall construction that corresponds to our columns is very expensive, we decided to put the fence along the road on a simpler wall and have only the two sloping walls from the columns to the fence built in a higher quality style. The part of the land around the house that does not border the road we have only fenced and thus saved the cost of building the wall. Now the walls are finished and the fence is up and we are super happy to finally have no more uninvited guests on the property.
